The World Collection
For centuries, painters travelled great distances for a single colour. Rembrandt sought a particular yellow ochre from Cyprus. the Renaissance artists used lapis lazuli ground from stone mined in Afghanistan.
The pursuit of rare earth pigments is as old as art itself.
In this collection, I continue that tradition — sourcing ochres and natural earth pigments from specific places around the world, each one carrying the geological character of its origin.
When these colours meet on the paper, they bring with them the deep memory of different landscapes, different soils, different corners of the same earth.
