Framing
Works are sold unframed because the right frame is a deeply personal choice, one best made by you for your space.
If you would like your work sent directly to your chosen framer rather than to your home address, I am happy to arrange that.
Simply get in touch after your purchase with the delivery details and I'll take care of it.
Topics to discuss with your framer
These works are made on archival paper using natural pigments and traditional materials.
When speaking to your framer, the following points are worth raising to ensure your work is protected for the long term...
to frame or not to frame
UV Protective Glass
Ask for museum-grade or conservation glass that filters UV light, this protects natural pigments from fading over time.
Reversible Methods
Some framers will offer for the work to be mounted using reversible methods, this ensures it can be safely removed in the future without damage if you need to reframe such as if your decor changes.
Acid Free Matting
Any mat board used should be acid-free and archival to avoid discolouration or damage to the paper over time.
Readymade Frames
There is a large industry for ready-made frames for DIY framing. This can be a great solution but quality can vary, framing shops will sell these and some can be Australian made.
Float Mounting
The A2 size Fabriano paper has been cut from a larger piece so float mounting may not be an ideal solution, good to know.
Sustainability
You can ask your framer for the source of the frame and glass. It can be a great conversation to have. There are also small artisanal workshops that make up-cycled frames. Usually found online or at markets.
